THE BODY SHOP // EXPERT FACE MASK RANGE...

Hiya guys, welcome back.

This blog is about the new face masks that The Body Shop have recently brought out. I have purchased two of these products too see whether they work or are just a waste of money. There will be a series of these blogs to update you guys on what the benefits of these products are, and what the drawbacks are. All 5 of these face masks are £16 each.

HIMALAYAN CHARCOAL

The Himalayan charcoal face masks is 1/5. This face mask is for purifying the skin. It is meant to unclog and refine pores. This mask is recognised by a green label which is surrounded by grey packaging. This face mask is specifically designed to release impurities and toxins to help reveal a healthy, youthful glow. If you suffer from Oily or a combination (dry/oily) skin type then i would recommend you picking this product up. This products smells incredible lets just hope it works incredible.

ETHIOPIAN HONEY

The Ethiopian Honey is the yellow labelled face mask. This face mask is a deep nourishing mask which is meant to replenish, restore and comfort the skin. It is designed too moisturise the skin and too make is softer and smoother to touch. This product smells and looks like honey. I would recommend this mask for a combination or a dry skin type just because it has more of an oil base.

The main reason why these products are so popular is because they are the body shops first full vegan face masks range which is extremely less harmful to the skin. I shall be posting another blog post about these products and my overall review on them as I progress with them.

MAKE UP REMOVER FOR OILY SKIN...

Hello people,

I haven't done a blog post in a while as I've been settling into my beauty course, and I've also been wanting time to test out new make products and skin care routines. Of course I've found my shares of must haves and hell no's. However, there is one product that I have grown to love over the past month and that is a make-up remover. This make-up remover is Clinique's take the day off cleansing milk.

As some of you may be aware my skin type is oily, and I do suffer with blemishes quite regularly. This means that when I buy make-up removers oil products should be avoided at all costs. This product is cream based and tends to soak up access oil on my skin. This product is non-dented and fragrance free. This means that if i do have aggressive blemishes on my face it doesn't aggravate them even more. This leaves your skin feeling re-freshed and smooth from at least 6 hours. If you have dry/normal skin the same product can be brought as an oil. This product was a little on the high end side, as this product was £21.00p. However, I would say that this product does last a long time as only a little product needs to be applied on the face.

NYX HIGHLIGHT AND CONTOUR PALETTE/// SWATCHES AND REVIEW...

Back at it again with the NYX make-up, and I tell you what I am in LOVE with this brands so much that I thought lets introduce you to the new contour palette I recently purchased. This palette costs £18.00, and it is powder based, whereas a lot of contour palettes I normally invest in are cream based. I must say I have never been a fan of powdered products such as, foundation and contour palettes as I always tend to buy cream ones. However, i decided it was time for a change so I have decided to experiment with a powder contour set.

(Swatches starting from top left, across to top right, down to bottom left and across to bottom right)

However, I have found one problem with this palette, and that is that the lightest shades of contour is unrecognisable on the face just like it is unrecognisable in the image above, so I suggest finding a different product to use for lighter toned contour to use under the eyes ( ICONIC LONDON , SLEEK MAKE-UP). Even though there is a problem with this palette the darker shades make it all worth the money. They are the best colours of contour for a bronzy/natural look. The last 4 colours of this palette sculpt the face and give the face more of a defined look, not only do they do that they also are extremely easy to blend, and last on the face for around 6 hours. There are a few highlighting colours in this palette, but I find that other highlighting colours seem to match the dark contour shades better ( NYX Strobe of Genus illuminating palette - previous blog post). I also find that these contour shades do not go blotchy on the face and don't move when your face gets all hot and sticky.

NYX CONCEAL.CORRECT.CONTOUR///REVIEW ...

I think you might have guessed by now that I have an obsession with NYX make-up products, so to no surprise here is another blog on a recent purchase, and this one only costs £10.00.That's right £10.00 for 6 great cream based concealers, correctors and contours. These work wonders, and I guarantee that if you haven't gotten one of these palettes you will be buying one next time you go out.

(Swatches going across starting at the top left and ending at the bottom right)

Trust me I get it spots, dark circles, red patches you name it, and I promise you this palette can fix it for you. This palette is amazing and covers any blemishes that are hard to hide. These colours have so much depth to them that they work with any skin tone, and they can definitely make a difference to your make up look. The 2 middle shades I would recommend to use to contour the cheeks only as they are extremely dark and harder to blend also these colours would look out of place being put in little places all over the face. The 5th swatch colour on the image above is great for hiding dark circles and defining the face. The last 2 swatches work miracles in hiding redness and spots. This palette is great, and eventually will become a regular part of your everyday make up routine. One thing that I love about this palette is that the cream is not heavy on the skin and doesn't block up the pours on the face. I have found that using this palette has helped my skin by making it look less oily and less spotty. It is defiantly a must have.

NYX SROBE OF GENUS ILLUMINATING PALETTE/// SWATCHES AND REVIEW...

This NYX highlighting palette is defiantly a must have. I have been looking for highlight shades that last long and stand out on my face, and this one hasn't disappointed. This palette consists of 7 different shades that are all highly pigmented and have a sprinkle of glitter in them. This palette is £15.00, and trust me when I say it is worth every penny.

(Swatches starting from the top left and going across to the top right then down to the bottom left and across to bottom right)

As you can tell by this image of swatches the darker highlight shades are more pigmented and have more of a glittery look, whereas the first three sides are more lighter. However, when going over these shades around 3-4 times the colour builds up causing the highlight to look more noticeable on the face. I have found that the lighter shades tend to suit natural make up looks for when you want to go out, and for when you want people to notice the highlight straight away when they look at you. I have recently worn the lighter shades to festivals as | feel it creates a more unique look. I would recommend using the last 3 colours daily, and for when you want a more bronzy make up look.

HOW TO/// DINO BRAIDS

First section the hair into 2 sections.
Use a hairband to secure one side of the hair out of the way.
Grab a section at the front of the hair and split this into 3 sections. If you are doing these braids on yourself make sure you pull these pieces of hair back from your face to make sure the braid will lie on the hair properly.
If you are starting on the right side of your hair take the strand which is on the left side and move it underneath the piece of hair which is in the middle ( the piece of hair you just moved will now be in there middle). If you are starting on the left side of your hair take the right piece of hair and move that underneath the piece in the middle. Then with he opposite side to what you just moved repeat this process.
After you have moved each piece carry non doing the same method, but add a new piece of hair each time.Make sure you pull the braid tight by making sure you tug on each strand of hair after you have moved on to a new position.

When you have added as many pieces of hair as you can you will be left with 3 long strands of hair.
Depending on the last piece you moved ( if you moved the right you will know be moving the left, if you moved the left you will be moving the right) take that strand and move it underneath the middle piece of hair.Carry on doing this till you get to the end of your hair (it should look like a reverse plait).
Secure into place with a hairband which matches the colour of your hair.
If you want a tidy look spray hairspray all over the hair.

MUST HAVES...

 ICONIC LONDON CREAM CONTOUR PALETTE-

This contour palette is very easy to blend and the colours which are available suit and can be worked to fit any skin tone. It's very pigmented and when being worn allows the face to breath and feel as though their is nothing on the skin. This product seems to work best just with a primer underneath, no foundation is necessary. However, the only problem with this product is that it is on the pricy side ( £32.99) an alternative would be the Sleek Make up contour kit.

NYX BROW GEL-

To get good brows there is no need to waste you money on expensive high end make up brands. Trust me i have used them all from Benefit to Anastasia Dip brow to whatever the Kardashians are using and somehow I still end up coming back to this piece of art. This is a liquid based formula which can be applied on the eyebrows with an angled brush. This product can last ages as only a little bit needs to be applied to fill in your brows. It is available in a variety of shades, however i would suggest going into the shop and looking at the colours as they look completely different to how they are shown online. This product is waterproof which means that it lasts a lot longer on the brows, but the most amazing thing about this product is that it only costs £5.50 what a bargain !!!

KYLIE JENNER NAIL POLISHES-

Nothing beats a nail polish especially one which has been brought out by the queen herself KYLIE JENNER. These Nail polishes are so easy to apply and last just over a week without chipping. Kylie has been releasing different sets of nail polishes monthly including a Matte range, Denim Range and a pasta range. If you buy one of these Sinful Colours i would recommend buying the top coat which she has also released to get the best out of the product. A single Nail polish from Kylie's range is starting at £3.00.

ICONIC LONDON EVO CONTOUR AND CONCEAL BRUSHES-

These Evo brushes have been everywhere on social media the past couple of months, and when i saw how soft the brushes looked and the sizes they come in I honestly couldn't help myself. These brushes don't not leave any harsh lines and blend every single product you use into you skin properly whether it is contour cream or even blush, they work wonders. They leave your skin with a matte finish and an even spread of make up products all over the face. These brush are on the pricy side of things ( £40.00).

NYX HD STUDIO FINISHING POWDER-

I had never used a single finishing powder in my life until i decided to pick this product up because it was in a sale. This product is works best when applied with a beauty blender. This product should be placed over the top of any places on your face which have been highlighted and where the sun would naturally hit.I find this products works best when doing the baking method as i feel it leaves the skin looking matte and very soft. This product works wonders, and i can not go without this product when doing my make up. This product is £8.00, and i would recommend that you defiantly add this to your make up collection.
